Historical adventure of beautiful Slavonia

Day 1 (Zagreb – arrival)
When you land at Zagreb airport, your personal driver will meet you and take you to your hotel. After you settle in the hotel, you can explore the city on your own, as this day is free for you to relax and prepare for following week.

Day 2 (City Centre & Osijek)
In the morning, after breakfast, you will meet your driver and start your morning tour of Zagreb. You will begin by discovering the Upper Town at Ban Jelacic Square, from which you will walk up Tkalciceva Street, all the way to the Cathedral, St. Mark’s Church and Stone Gates. You will be captivated by these architectural wonders, through which you will get to know the culture and history of this beautiful city. After exploring the Upper Town you will go to the Lower Town and see the magnificent parks. There will then be a lunch break at one of the best restaurants in Zagreb to try some traditional dishes. After lunch, you will continue your trip to Slavonia and its beautiful city of Osijek. The drive to Osijek takes about two and a half hours, through the entrancing countryside of Slavonia with high mountains, green fields and forests. When you arrive in the hotel, you will have free time to settle in and to sightsee around the city on your own, getting a small picture of the attractions that Osijek has to offer.

Day 3 (City Centre & Kopački Rit)
After breakfast, you will meet your driver and start your tour of Osijek, which is the 4th biggest city in Croatia. The tour will take you around Osijek’s main attractions, such as the Museum of Slavonia, the Fortress of Osijek, Cathedral of St. Peter, King Tomislav Park and a walk along the Drava River Promenade. After the tour, you can again walk along the promenade or have drinks by the river Drava and enjoy the view of the city. Then there will be a lunch break where you can try some of the best traditional Slavonian dishes. Afterwards you will visit the nature park Kopački Rit. It is a swampland home to thousands of animals, especially birds and one of the biggest in Europe. You can wander around this magnificent area, watch birds and many other animals as they walk freely through the woods. Or you can have more sporting day with rafting in the river or biking through the countryside. After enjoying this afternoon outdoors, you will go back to the city of Osijek and experience the city’s nightlife.

Day 4 (Vukovar)
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will continue your Slavonian trip and visit the city of Vukovar. It is 40 minutes away from Osijek and it is known as the city that was destroyed the most during the Civil War. The city as it is today is completely different than before, since most of the buildings were damaged. During your tour of Vukovar, you will see the Vučedol Culture Museum, Castle Eltz and Vukovar Hospital, where you will see a multimedia projection of the tragic events during the Civil War and the Water Tower, which became the symbol of suffering in Vukovar. There will then be time for a lunch break. Afterwards you will visit Ovčara Memorial, which is the building where victims of the war were tortured. Inside the Memorial, you will see pictures of victims and will learn of the events that happened here. You will then return to Osijek where you can rest and relax with a couple of drinks in the city centre, to be fresh for the next day.

Day 5 (Vinkovci & Đakovo)
Once you had your breakfast, you will continue your tour to another city in Slavonia, Vinkovci. The city is only 45 minutes away from Osijek. The city of Vinkovci is one of the oldest in Europe with an uninterrupted lifespan of more than 8,000 years. It is full of historical sites and many cultural attractions, which you will see during your guided tour, such as Kozarac monument, Ivan Kozarac Memorial House, St. Elias Church, St. Eusebius and Polion Church, etc. After sightseeing, you will have a lunch break at a city restaurant, so you can taste some of the traditional dishes from Vinkovci. You will then go on to Đakovo to see one of the oldest stables in Europe. You will learn about the traditions of horse breeding in this area, with a guided tour of the stables. You can then walk through the beautiful countryside, see the horses around you and views of the spectacular scenery. After this day well spent in nature, you will head back to the city and spend your last evening there with some refreshing drinks or a walk along the promenade.

Day 6 (Belgrade)
Early in the morning, you will leave your hotel, and start your trip to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The drive to Belgrade is around 3 hours, depending if there is traffic at the border. When you arrive in the city, you will be taken to your hotel to settle in and afterwards there will be lunch at a local restaurant to try ćevapčići with onions. There will then be a short sightseeing tour where you will discover the Kalemegdan fortress, streets with historical and cultural value to the city, Nikola Pašić Square, the Military History Museum, and many more. After sightseeing, you will have free time to explore the city, as you get to know it better by wandering around on your own.

Day 7 (Belgrade – departure)
The last day of this tour will be free depending on the time of your departure. You will be taken to the airport by your driver around two hours before your international flight, to have enough time to check-in.

Day 1 (Ljubljana – arrival)
You will be met at Ljubljana airport by your personal driver and taken to your hotel. This first day will be free to get settled and explore the city by yourself.

Day 2 (City Centre & Bled)
Once you had your breakfast, you will go on your morning guided tour of the beautiful city of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The city has a very rich history and mesmerising culture, which you will feel with every building that you see. You will walk through long streets and explore the city’s fascinating architecture. You will visit the Ljubljana castle, the National Gallery of Modern Arts, the Dragon Bridge, Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, and the famous Triple Bridge. After seeing all of Ljubljana’s main attractions, you will have a lunch break at a local restaurant and then continue your journey to Bled. The drive takes around 45 minutes, after which you will be taken to the hotel to settle in. Later you will have free time to relax and rest for the next day.

Day 3 (Bled – Wine of the Eastern Frontier)
This day will be reserved for a full day wine tour of the eastern part of Slovenia. After breakfast, you will start your journey to Brežice, a small city close to the Croatian border. You will see the beautiful city centre, as well as its captivating renaissance castle. After Brežice, you will continue to one of the most well-known wine regions in Slovenia, where you will admire the green hills and vineyards, visit local wineries and taste different types of wines, served with cheese and finger food. You will hear about the history of wine and how it started being made in Slovenia, after which you will have lunch in one of their Michelin star restaurants. After lunch, you will continue to Olimpje, where you will visit one of the oldest pharmacies in this part of Europe as well as the castle that is situated within the city. You will then travel back to Zagreb, where you can have some free time to enjoy drinks in the city centre or wander around the beautiful buildings.

Day 4 (Zagreb & Samobor)
After breakfast, you will meet your driver in front of the hotel to commence your morning tour of Zagreb. You will start at Ban Jelacic Square, from which you will walk up Tkalciceva Street, all the way to the Cathedral, St. Mark’s Church and Stone Gates. These mesmerising architectural wonders show the best of Zagreb’s culture and history. After exploring the Upper and Lower Town, you will have a lunch break in a city restaurant and then continue to the small medieval city of Samobor, just 45 minutes from Zagreb. As well as all of the historical attractions that Samobor offers, it is the beautiful landscape, parks and countryside that surround the city which makes it so special and attractive. While there, you have to try some of their specialties, including their famous vanilla cream cake which is called “kremšnita”, because if you don’t, you will miss out on having the full Samobor experience!

Day 5 (Wine Tour)
In the morning, after you finish your breakfast, you will continue this tour with another wine tasting day. You will head to a small place called Hrašćina, where you will find one of the biggest wineries in this part of Croatia. The ride to it takes for around 50 minutes, as after, you will arrive to the magnificent winery. The winery gives a special treatment to their visitors, they give their best to make you feel the connection to nature, to commitment they have to their wines, with every sip of wine that you are tasting. Wine tasting is accompanied with tour of the winery and the vineyards, with professional presentation of their story and beginnings. The winery also has a restaurant, where you will have organized lunch, and taste many of traditional dishes that Zagorje offers, such as Štrukle, which is baked dough with cow’s milk cheese, and many more meat dishes. After lunch, you can wander around the beautiful nature around the winery, take a nice walk through the vineyards, and enjoy your day in nature. After this lovely day enjoying wine, you will head back to Zagreb, where you can walk around the city center, and discover beautiful parks that Zagreb has, or have drinks at the main square.

Day 6 (Zagreb – departure)
The last day of this tour will be at leisure for you to have some free time in Zagreb, till the time of departure of your flight. You will be taken to the airport by your driver around 2 hours before your international flight, as you will have enough time for check-in and finding your gate for departure.

Day 2 (City Centre & Trakošćan Castle)
Once you had your breakfast you will start your morning guided tour of Zagreb. You will continue your trip onwards to Trakošćan Castle, which is an hour and a half far away from Zagreb, through green hills, picturesque landscapes, passing fairy tale castles and vineyards. Trakošćan castle is located at the top of a hill and is one of the most beautiful in Croatia, as you will discover when exploring it. After sightseeing around the castle and its landscape, you will head back to Zagreb, where you will have a free evening to explore the city’s vibrant life, wander the streets or have drinks in the city centre.

Day 3 (Osijek)
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will leave the hotel in Zagreb and start your trip to Slavonia, in the eastern part of Croatia. Your first stop and home for the next few days will be Osijek, which is the 4th biggest city in Croatia. The drive to Osijek takes around two and a half hours, through the mesmerizing countryside of Slavonia with high mountains, green fields and forests. After arriving in Osijek, you will be taken to your hotel to settle in and then you will have lunch in a traditional Slavonian restaurant. After lunch, you will have a sightseeing tour of Osijek’s main attractions, such as the Museum of Slavonia, Fortress of Osijek, Cathedral of St. Peter, King Tomislav Park and a walk along the Drava River Promenade. After the tour, you can continue walking along the promenade or have drinks by the river Drava and enjoy the view of the city.

Day 4 (Valpovo Castle)
After breakfast in your hotel in Osijek, you will start your day trip to Valpovo, which is a small city in Slavonia, 30 minutes away from Osijek. Our first stop is going to be at the Castle Prandau-Normann, which is one of the oldest and biggest castles in Slavonia. The complex consists of a medieval tower, baroque chapels on either side, courtyard chapels, an inner courtyards and central palace. The castle architecture is mesmerizing, not only from the inside, but also the land surrounding it. After the tour of the castle, you will have a lunch break in one of the restaurants in Valpovo, to taste all of the delicacies that Slavonia offers. After lunch, you will have some free time to explore the city or to relax with a cup of coffee, after which you will go back to Osijek, so you can experience the city in the late afternoon.

Day 5 (Našice & Kutjevo)
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will start your journey to the city of Našice, where you will visit the famous Pejačević Castle. After a 50 minute drive, you will arrive in front of this magnificent castle, based in the city park and named after the noble family, Pejačević. The castle itself is not the same as it was years ago; it was smaller and not so rich in architectural decorations. The castle is significant for being the base of the German army during World War II, as well as being their military hospital. After exploring the castle’s interior, you will go to a local restaurant for lunch and try some of the dishes that Našice offers. Afterwards you will continue to the city of Kutjevo, 30 minutes away from Našice, where you will visit the famous castle of Kutjevo. The castle is a protected architectural heritage monument and it is one of the most beautiful baroque castles in this part of Croatia. The park that surrounds the castle has protected status due to the unique trees growing there. You can explore the castle and all of the attractions then later you will head back to Osijek, where you can spend free time enjoying the city.

Day 6 (Zagreb)
In the morning you will have free time to explore Osijek. You can enjoy walking along the stone streets or just relax having a coffee in the main square, as after you have had lunch at one of the restaurants serving traditional Slavonian food, you will head back to Zagreb. When you arrive in Zagreb and settle in your hotel, you will be able to enjoy the city and have time to explore some of the sights on your own.

Day 7 (Zagreb – departure)
The last day of this tour will be at leisure for you to have some free time in Zagreb, depending on how much time you will have before departure of your flight. You will be taken to the airport by your driver to be at the airport around 2 hours before your international flight, as you can do the check-in and find your gate for departure, so you don’t have to rush to your flight.

Natural wonders of Slovenia

Day 1 (Zagreb - arrival)    
You will be met at Zagreb airport by your personal driver and taken to your hotel. This first day will be free for you to get settled and explore the city by yourself.

Day 2 (City Centre & Mirogoj)
After breakfast, you will meet your driver and your morning tour of Zagreb will begin. You will start at Ban Jelacic Square, from which you will walk up Tkalciceva Street, all the way to the Cathedral, St. Mark’s Church and Stone Gates. These mesmerising architectural wonders show the best of this charming city’s culture and history. After exploring the Upper and Lower Town, you will have a lunch break, from where you will continue the tour to Mirogoj, the most beautiful cemetery in Europe. The cemetery is also a park, where you can take a walk and see all the impressive monuments and statues of famous people buried there. After sightseeing, you can explore the city of Zagreb on your own.

Day 3 (Bled & Ljubljana)
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will meet your driver in front of the hotel and start your trip to Slovenia. After around two and a half hours’ drive, your first stop will be at Lake Bled, which is one of the main landmarks and places of outstanding beauty in Slovenia. With an island in the middle of the lake and mountains surrounding it from every side, it looks like it’s from a fairytale. After a relaxed walk around the lake, you will have a lunch break and then continue your trip to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, with a short drive of 50 minutes. When you arrive in Ljubljana, you will be taken to your hotel, after which you will have free time.

Day 4 (Postojna Cave & Pivka)
On your fourth day you will begin your day tour to the Postojna Cave, which is just 50 minutes’ drive from Ljubljana. The cave is part of a network in Slovenia, formed several million years ago. The river Pivka and rainwater being the main creators of this natural wonder. To reach the cave, you will get on a small train and after a 10 minute ride you will arrive inside the cave. After exploring all of the prehistoric wonders and beauties here, you will continue your trip to the small town of Pivka. After around 15 minutes you will arrive at a local restaurant where you will have a lunch break, after which you will go to The Park of Military History. The Park is one of the biggest of this kind in Europe and gives a unique view into the world’s history of war. The museum holds an enviable collection of tanks and military artillery, collection of airplanes and many more object that were used in wars. At the end of the tour, you will head back to Ljubljana, so you can enjoy the city’s vibrant nightlife.

Day 5 (Skocjan Cave & Koper)
After having your breakfast, your tour of Slovenia will start with Skocjan Cave, located just an hour from Ljubljana. Skocjan Cave is the other part of the famous cave system in Slovenia, together with Postojna Cave, they make the most popular natural area in Slovenia and are inscribed on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List from 1986. After you finish walking through the cave, you will continue the trip to Koper, a small city located just 30 minutes away. When you arrive in the city, you will have a lunch break, after which you will see all of its attractions and hear stories and legends about the city. You will see Muda Gate, Šavrinke and the Lion caste, Prešeren Square, Tito Square and an abundance of interesting streets with many fascinating facades. When you finish exploring the city, you will return to Ljubljana and can rest for the next day or explore the city’s night life on your own.

Day 6 (Wine Tour Maribor)
The last day of your tour will be reserved for more relaxed activities. After breakfast, you will meet your driver and begin your ride to Maribor, a beautiful city that is home to the oldest grapevine which dates back 400 years. The drive to the vineyards takes around an hour and a half, where you will sample wine and traditional Slovenia food. You will spend your day walking through the vineyards, exploring the countryside of Maribor and tasting different sorts of wine and food. After this relaxing tour, you will head back to Ljubljana, where you can enjoy the city since it is your last evening.

Day 7 (Ljubljana - departure)
The last day of this tour will be free for you in Ljubljana until the time of your departure. You will be taken to the airport by your driver around 2 hours before your international flight, as you will have enough time for check-in and finding your gate for departure, as airport in Ljubljana is quite small, so you will not have any trouble finding your way.
